This solid aluminum block replaces the plastic part molded into the slide on 1999-2004 Grand Cherokee power window regulators. When the plastic OEM block cracks, it releases the cable holding the window up and the window will fall down. This replacement block is universal and designed to work on front or back, drivers or passenger side windows. It is a two piece design which clamps itself to the slide with two screws. You are buying the block only. Not the slide.
Fits 1999 to 2004 Grand Cherokees. Please note these blocks will not fit regulators with 100% plastic slides (see the difference here) or certain non-OEM regulators.
SAVE TIME: The stock plastic block will break eventually and at the most inopportune time, leaving you scrambling to find something to hold the window up to keep out the rain, snow, heat, cold, and criminals. It is MUCH easier to change the block before they break. Waiting until the plastic block breaks may cause damage to the cables and motor drum which will require additional repair, or a whole new regulator. Install a block in all four doors and you will never have to worry about it again!

Tips:
- You can save some time and a little bit of money by replacing the blocks before they break. Typically the cables get destroyed when the plastic block cracks due to the cable bunching up around the drive drum in the motor. Once this happens, you need to replace the cables.
- While new cable can be purchased at Lowes for less than a couple bucks, it takes a significant amount of time to properly size and crimp the new cables. It also helps if you have 4 hands. If you replace the block before it cracks, the replacement can be done within 30 minutes.
- The top cable is always anchored closer to the track.
- Remove the old plastic block by carefully heating it with a small torch or heat gun. The plastic doesnt burn, but becomes very soft and can be pushed out from the back. Be certain not to melt the plastic that holds onto the track!!
